This miter saw review will focus on three major areas: the ease of use of the Dewalt DW715; the convenience and power of this amazingly accurate tool; and the features that will get you in and done with your cutting, fast. Let’s get started with this down and dirty compound miter saw review.

The Dewalt DW715 is on sale at Amazon.com through this link only!

Easy to Use, Move and Carry

The Dewalt DW715 12-inch compound miter saw is a lightweight yet powerful compound miter saw. Weighing in at only 42 pounds, this tool can be easily moved around the job site though the use of its convenient carrying handle located very near the miter saw’s center of balance. Once you are there, this miter saw’s adjustable stainless steel miter detent features 11 positive stops for easy setup. The DW715 also features a easy-to adjust cam-lock miter handle to deliver quick and accurate miter angles. This is a must for those long hours on the job. No one wants to spend forever setting up their cuts. Even the out-of-the-box 12-inch blade is decent when backed by the DW715’s 15 amp motor. This compound miter saw is designed to make your work quick and easy. I highly recommend it.

Convenience, Power and Accuracy

Compound miter saws should provide power, convenience, and most of all, accuracy. The Dewalt DW715 miter saw does just this. It is designer to deliver quick and accurate bevel cuts. It also allows you to setup bevel cuts from 0 to 48 degrees to the left and 0 to 3 degrees to the right. This increases its usefulness on on the job site, believe me. It also has convenient hardened steel bevel stops at 0, 33.9 and 45 degrees. The saw also has a wide miter capacity, featuring a 0-50 degree swing left or right. On of the most versatile tools out there. All this and it is still powerful enough to accurately cut a 45 degree bevel through dimensional lumber.

Get in, Get done

Miter saw cutting a 4x4As mentioned the Dewalt 12-inch compound miter saw has 15 amp motor. This powerful motor is capable of a no load speed of 4000rpm. That will make quick work of your cutting job. The Dewalt DW715’s tall fence supports vertically set crown and base molding and easily slides away when you need to make a bevel cut. The dust collection bag tends to fill up quickly and only seems to collect about half of the dust, however it is enough to keep your going through a number of cuts before you’d be forced to clear away the excess. Even then the large miter gauge is still readily visible though a layer of sawdust. Despite the dust bag’s failings, I find myself with less time at the table and more time finishing the job.

Summary

Dewalt has come up with a list of features making this compound miter saw a terrifc tool for your home or jobsite. The variety of cuts you are able to make and change between easily make this a top choice for contractors, hobbyist and do-it-your-selfers. The power and accuracy of the DW715 making second cuts a thing of the past and this will save you time and money. It is a speedy and versitile tool designed to get you in and done fast. If you haven’t checked it out yet then take the time to see it on sale through this link. I hope this miter saw review has been useful to you.

Still not convinced? Check out this review from a Amazon.com customer, Bemace:

“I’m not a professional, I’m just a homeowner who appreciates quality tools, but it seems they got all the details right on this saw. Miter and bevel were perfectly aligned out of the box, which I checked with my triangle and with some test cuts. Getting it out of the box was easy too, thanks to the carrying handle on the saw head which is very solid and close to the center of balance. (Usually with big items like this you have to figure out how to get your hands underneath it and then hold the box down while you get it out.) The locking pin which keeps the saw head down when you’re carrying it can be slid in and out easily but has no problem supporting the weight, while the spring that raises the head prevents the pin from sliding out accidentally. There are also good hand holds on each side of the base with rounded edges so they don’t dig into your hands….”
